Dear Reader,
The thought of keeping a blog from our travels in India feels quite odd to me. Being asked repeatedly to blog, actually made me quite nervous. I Perhaps I should explain.
Typically I categorize blogs into on of the following two… useful or useless. The useful ones give you insight, answers, knowledge and musing to ponder while showering. The useless are what is referred to as ‘TP’ or ‘Time Pass’ on the Indian subcontinent. So my dilemma… so which one do I want to write.
The prospect of sweating over a keyboard, straining to come forth with useful information, somehow doesn’t appeal to me(especially on a ‘holiday’). So, then am I left with the proverbial TP’? My answer yes… and wipe I shall!
I want to entertain you. Not make you laugh, but an inward chuckle perhaps, that good Humorist do in their sleep. Expect a meaningless, potentially engaging, brutally honest and whimsical recap of my days that should under no circumstances be used as a guide, reference or inspiration to visit this incredible country. Welcome aboard, and you have been warned!
Destination: New Delhi, India
Via: Plane
Travel Duration: 36 Hours,
Funniest sign: ‘A place where men & women shop together’, Indira Gandhi Airport, New Delhi
Observances: The mustache never really went out of style here, the bigger the belly the tighter the shirt,
Amazements: How traffic actually moves, how quickly the Metro (subway) is being built, our hotel has Miso (misspelled ‘misu’… miss you?) soup!
Notes: We are exhausted, but can’t sleep. It’s 5am, we have been traveling for 36 hours, barely slept… but still can’t sleep. Please god, let us sleep! Did someone mention sleep?
On the brighter side, fresh juices, delicious fruit and a new day is awaiting us. We are off to a great start and looking forward to making the most of our time here!
